Personal Development That’s Fun, Unique And Phenomenally Beneficial.
Originally called The Grateful Chain, this simple process was born out of a need to find an uplifting morning ritual that united a group of people, by sharing with each other the things that they were grateful for each day.
Some twelve months prior to the development of the original grateful-chain website, our founder, Elizabeth Richardson had dreamed of a business that packaged personal development in a fun, unique and phenomenally beneficial way. ‘Lifegames’ was then registered as a business in Victoria, Australia in April 2006, after 3 days of inspired writing, (mainly during the night). The original plans then lay dormant in an old notebook for 12 months while she developed another business.
But her passion for personal and spiritual development
was reignited even stronger after watching the hit movie
Within a few days after watching “The Secret”, the inspiration came to facilitate a ‘Lifegames’ Goal Achieving Workshop and Elizabeth enrolled several of the participants to join her in e-mailing each other a list of ten things they were grateful for each day. The original ‘Grateful Chain‘ had begun. People were finding benefit in the process. Then it was time to share it with the world.
As further writings started to pour through her, the grateful chain moved into the background and 5 books were born and published. A couple years after it began, the original Grateful-Chain was closed down completely, but one of our members thought it too valuable to leave and took it upon himself to save some of the information from the web archive and reopened it on his own.
What’s Happening Today?
May 31 2014, the website has been revived yet again … with a deliberate name change to reflect an even more empowering word – “appreciation”. Every time we think of being grateful, it tends to remind us of the “thing” we are trying to overcome. But when we think of the word appreciate, it tends to open us to a cleaner, clearer more clarified sense of the source of life and love and unity with all.
Welcome to appreciation.space.
We invite you to add a few things of your own to the list right here.
